Past Projects
Mēlani N. Douglass offers unique consulting services for community engagement and exhibition design projects.
During the pandemic, I worked with a team to bring together a community exhibition around home & staged in the kitchen. National Museum of Women in Arts first online exhibition and first exhibition with art from the community.
Second installation of the Love on the Line Series. After the Baltimore Uprising, I worked with local march organizers to receive the community at the end of a rally. We had a therapist on site, a movement meditation, songs & a microphone to lift our voices in response to the times.
Inaugural project of the Family Arts Museum. Participants had to bring a load to wash & a love letter to Baltimore. An anti-violence project that never mentioned violence. A nod to the history of social practice and socially engaged art that takes place in the laundromat.
