CommuniTEA Salons
The CommuniTEA Salons are rooted in the tradition of historical tradition of Black people hosting salons in their homes where artists, thinkers, and community leaders gathered to exchange ideas and build movements for social change. This work is deeply informed by the Dark Tower Salon and other salons of the Harlem Renaissance, the Combahee River Collective, the organizing strategies of the Colored Conventions, the legacy of the Georgia Gilmore Club and the Club from Nowhere as well as the timeless tradition and convening power of Black people to use storytelling and grassroots activism to create, develop and demand true change.
This salons seamlessly weave together meditation, cultural exploration, and community discussion, offering participants a “Think & Do” experience where they not only reflect on critical issues but also co-create solutions for a healthier, more connected future.
